Problem of practice
“Energy ideas such as transfers, wasted energy and efficiency are hard to grasp from static textbook diagrams and formulas alone.”
Learning goal
Learners will be able to explain how energy is stored, transferred and conserved, and calculate power and efficiency in examples such as a power station.
What it does
An interactive physics book covering the energy topic of GCSE and IGCSE physics in ten lessons, from springs to power stations and the grid. Each diagram rises off the page as a 3D ink drawing, with energy shown as glowing colour moving between stores. Students predict, test and prove each idea, lift a flap to check the answer and earn a stamp.
- Ten lessons from energy stores and springs to power stations, the grid and conservation of energy
- 3D ink-style diagrams that lift off the page, with energy shown as glowing colour flowing between stores
- Predict, test and prove steps, with a lift-the-flap answer and a stamp to earn
- Swappable energy source in the power station lesson (gas, coal, nuclear, wind, solar, hydro) showing reliability, cost,
